Exceptional Peer Collaboration
Peer connection for experienced paediatric OTs
After a decade or more in practice, you’ve got a lot of experience to draw on, and you still know how much there is to learn. This group works because everyone brings both.
You’ve seen a lot. You’ve tried things that worked and things that didn’t. You’ve grown alongside clients over years, and you’ve built your own way of thinking about the work.
What you still need is somewhere to grapple with it. Somewhere the complex cases don’t stay in your own head, and where the people around the table have enough experience to push back when it’s useful.
What a session looks like
Each session has a topic. Recent sessions have covered using sensory integration theory in conjunction with a mental health framework; supporting overwhelmed parents; and providing clinical supervision to others using a structured framework.
Everyone brings their own interests and their own clinical lens, which is what makes the collaboration work.
Who leads it
The group is led by Sarah Cavallaro, Principal OT, Director and Founder of Exceptional Kids.
Sarah is a paediatirc occupational therapist with over 25 years in practice, and a mental health accredited OT. She’s written the Social Emotional Competence Curriculum and presents regularly at conferences. She’s also generous with her knowledge and expertise, and that’s the spirit she brings to facilitating the group.
Who's in the group?
OTs with a decade or more of practice behind them. Many of our members are sole traders or running their own clinic. What they have in common is a commitment to ongoing learning, and the knowledge that there’s always more to understand in this work. They’re here to keep honing how they practise, not to tick off CPD hours.
Membership is capped at 12. This group has been created to be a collaboration and everyone who joins is part of the conversation.
If you’re in your first ten years, our Online Learning Community is the better fit.
